American Flag

Aaron Smith was born in Texas, but most of his childhood was spent in upstate New York. In 2005, he began pursuing his first college degree, a Bachelor's in Church Education and Music. He graduated from this small, private college in 2009 and began working as a Police Officer for the State of Oklahoma. After three years in this position, he decided to pursue his long-time goal of enlisting in the US Army.

Following his father's and brother's footsteps, Aaron enlisted, survived Basic Training, and then attended a 6 month Military Intelligence training school, where he achieved the level of Top Honor Graduate in his class of 50.

After training, Aaron was stationed in Hawaii. Here, Aaron was able to spend the first three years of his marriage hiking the beautiful mountains, travelling to the less populated islands, and working his way to becoming a certified PADI Rescue Diver.

In 2015, unforeseen circumstances forced Aaron to medically separate from the Army. At this time, he and his family decided to move to the beautiful state of Colorado. Settling first in Greeley, then Milliken and eventually Windsor, Colorado.

Throughout the years, Aaron has obtained two bachelor's degrees, a master's degree, and a master's certification in various areas of study. He knows what academia is. He has experienced public, private and homeschooling forms of education throughout his life, from grade school through college.

Since moving to Windsor, Aaron has served as the delegate and HOA representative for his community, spending time, energy, and financial resources to help build the relationships in the neighborhood and to ensure the residents have a voice in the decisions being made for the community. He organized and provided resources for multiple community events such as First Responder Appreciation activities, winter sledding activities, summer water balloon fights. His primary goal in this role has been to exemplify a truly caring, invested neighbor.

Aaron is a strong, analytical, out-of-the box thinker, a trait that was honed and sharpened by his military training and work. This mindset has carried over to all aspects of his life. When there is a difficult situation, Aaron knows how to handle high-stress, critical, and uncertain decisions. He prides himself in finding the alternative solutions and unconventional approaches.

Finally, Aaron knows how to go above and beyond. This is driven by his care for people, communities, and children. It also gives him personal satisfaction to continue to fight for the future of others. He realizes that our children are our future and we must do the work to ensure they have all the tools they need to make it bright.

There is no better person to support for the RE-4 School Board in Weld. Aaron will listen to the community. He will do the research. He will go the extra mile. He is personally invested in the future of the next generation (he has two beautiful children of his own), and he has already established a reputation for excellence and caring.
